Join us for a special reprise of the American Songbook by renowned vocalists David Pittsinger and Patricia Schuman, in collaboration with pianist Damien Francoeur-Krzyzek. “This is the Life” is a semi-autobiographical program that explores Pittsinger’s and Schuman’s life together—both on and off stage—with repertoire celebrating the life-changing musical events that have shaped their careers to the joys of raising a family. Both David Pittsinger & Patricia Schuman are currently performing in The Coronation of Poppea at Opera Theatre of Saint Louis through June 28th.
American bass-baritone David Pittsinger is renowned as a stage performer for his dramatic portrayals in the world’s major opera and concert houses and on Broadway. Signature roles include Mefistopheles in Gounod’s Faust, the title role in Massenet’s Don Quichotte, and Escamillo in Carmen. Pittsinger is also a frequent performer at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City.
American soprano Patricia Schuman has received much critical and popular acclaim during her international career. She has performed several roles including Alice Ford in Verdi’s Falstaff, the title role in Schumann’s Genoveva, and the title role in Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea.
